Regulation (EU) 2023/988 · Article 16
Switching is a paperwork exercise, provided you do it in the right order.
Sellers move for a reason: an unanswered email, a per-SKU invoice that grew, or a provider that could not produce the mandate when it was needed. The mechanics are simple, but the order matters.
The order that avoids a gap
Sign the new mandate first, then update the marketplace fields, then update the label block on the next production run, and only then terminate the old appointment.
Terminating first creates a window in which the product is on sale with no operator named, which is the one genuinely risky state.
Stock already printed
Goods already carrying the previous operator's details can usually be sold through, provided the details were correct when the product was placed on the market. New production carries the new block.
Where a large stock is affected, an over-label is the pragmatic answer and is generally accepted.
What to take with you
The signed mandate, the declaration of conformity and the technical file. A provider that cannot hand these over promptly is itself the reason to leave.
We ask for the previous designation at the start, so the transition is documented rather than merely asserted.
Included in every plan
Unlimited products, the written designation, the address that goes on the label and a register entry that turns red the day the mandate ends.
We would rather you could prove the appointment than merely assert it.
Why the code matters more than the price
Anyone can print a name on a label. The question an inspector or a marketplace asks is whether that name is really bound to you, today.
Our register answers that in one scan, and it answers honestly: if the mandate has lapsed, it says so.
Questions we are asked
Will my listings go down while I switch?
Not if you sign the new mandate before terminating the old one. The field is updated in place and the offer keeps its history.
What about products already in EU warehouses?
They can generally be sold through with the previous details. New stock carries the new block, and an over-label handles the middle ground.
Is switching cheaper than starting fresh?
With us, yes: coming from another provider costs the renewal price rather than the first-year price, because the file already exists.
The only expensive way to switch is to cancel first and arrange the replacement afterwards.
